Take a trip with the Chaos Riddler and get high on Chaos Riddle Prose.
Who is the Chaos Riddler and what is Chaos Riddle Prose? The Chaos Riddler is the Los Angeles based author, Derek Hunter. He writes in a style he calls Chaos Riddle Prose in order to penetrate, shake up, and distort not only language, narrative, and character development, but perceptions of reality as well. Storytelling is still the driving force behind the stories, but the way in which they're told not only gives the reader another way of enjoying a story but another way of looking at life.
Chaos Riddle Prose is indebted to writers of the past, such as Joyce, Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Marlowe, Plath, Woolf, Beckett, Celine, Dostoevsky, Genet, Burroughs, Brecht, Strindberg, Wilmot, Goethe, Crowley, Chekhov, Proust, Cervantes, and Kafka. The style some might say has affinities to Surrealism, Theater of the Absurd, Dadaism, Futurism, Modernism, Post-Modernism, or Stream of Consciousness, yet let it be clear that Chaos Riddle Prose belongs to none of these nor any other. While definitely influenced by these different aesthetic schools of thought, Chaos Riddle Prose separates itself by it's systematic anti-system approach to language and storytelling.
Chaos Riddle Prose sees life itself as one big riddle, having within it an infinite number of individual and distinct riddles. Unlike the standard riddle, with a proposition/question leading to a concrete answer, Chaos Riddle Prose often expresses itself as an enigma and an enigma only. Other times, to avoid redundancy, and "predictable chaos" (which would then no longer be chaos), Chaos Riddle Prose presents the story in clear, easily understood language. The Dramatic Moment is Key.
The page for each book - 0, EIE, BLWD (Black Light, White Dark), Life - has detailed information on each book, links to Amazon where you can purchase the books, and also samples of the writing itself.
You will also find a page - JWD - for my father, John Wisdom Dancer. It gives a short life history (1941-2005) of him and also the work he did. On this page is his last written work, a three act play called "Waiting for Amanda." Please check it out. It's worth it.

MUSIC AND VOICE NARRATION -
In addition to Chaos Riddle Prose, Derek Hunter creates electronic music and voice narration tracks. The music is closest to Dark Ambient in style and mood but also can be labelled Ambient, Trance, Industrial, Dark Wave, or Electro. Along with creating music inspired by his written work, Hunter also reads/performs passages from his books.
Hunter combines the two elements, his voice readings with the music for each track. The tracks are put together for a music album that corresponds with the book of the same name. There are now four music albums like this, E.I.E. for the novel E.I.E., Black Light White Dark for the short story collection Black Light White Dark, Life for the novel Life, and most recently 0 for 0 - the Nothing Man Tales Book Zero. All four albums are now available on iTunes, Amazon (both mp3 and CDs), Spotify, Rdio, and others.
Samples of the music can be found on Sound Cloud and there is also a Chaos Riddler radio station that plays the music along with 30 other bands of Hunter's choosing.
